This metal roof coating project in Nottingham was completed by Decron Ltd of Doncaster between July and October 2025.
The specification called for all of the metal roofs on the estate to be coated with Metaseal 20.
Extensive cut edge corrosion was present to the end and mid-lap panels and in some areas, these had perforated with age and use.
The original finish had largely delaminated due to solar degradation, age and use.
The preparation therefore called for all remaining reside to be removed and for the bare galvanised areas to be T-Washed before coating.
Liquasil’s Mordant T-Wash is a precautionary step to ensure full adhesion of the Metalseal, since galvanised surfaces can sometimes cause adhesion issues.
Cut edges were treated with SWT Primer to prevent further top-down corrosion, before receiving a coat of Metalseal to the treated areas.
A number of sheets were replaced where mid-laps were rotted, since this defect cannot be permanently solved with a coating product.
GRP rooflights were replaced as part of the roof refurbishment project, along with Dek-Tites to flues and vents.
Once preparation and cleaning was completed, all of the roofs received a single coat of Metalseal 20 and a 25 year product warranty was issued.
