Liquasil is the future of industrial roof coatings. We lead, others follow. None can match the quality of the products and none comes close to our level of expertise.
Industrial metal roofs are frequently replaced prematurely.
In many cases, specialist refurbishment systems can extend the service life of the existing roof by many years.
Liquasil Systems Range
Industrial metal roofs commonly suffer from corrosion at sheet edges, coating breakdown, gutter deterioration and fixing failure.
Understanding the underlying defect is essential when selecting the correct refurbishment strategy.
Liquasil products are made in the UK to our own unique formulation.
This is quite unique in the protective roof coatings market, where relabelling or licensing of other company’s products is commonplace.
We provide BBA Approved roof coating systems for the professional specification market, as well as budget friendly systems with Broof(t4) fire certification for the dilapidations sector and the direct to contractor market.
Our specially formulated silicone coating systems are made from the ground-up to ensure that they are all compatible with each other and can be over-coated without loss of adhesion should this ever be necessary.
By restricting supply of our superior coating systems to contractors that have undergone our training, couple with site audits on largest projects, we can help maintain a consistent quality of approach.
Please be aware that protective coatings are not waterproofing solutions and therefore, industrial roofs need to be brought into repair prior to coating. For assistance with specifications or installation, please call us on 0121 709 5352.
Unmatched UV Stability
Silicone roof coatings are 100% UV stable, meaning they don’t degrade, chalk, or become brittle under prolonged exposure to sunlight.
Why it matters:
Metal roofs get intense UV exposure. Alternative metal roof coatings like acrylics tend to chalk quickly or lose elasticity over time—silicone doesn’t.

Waterproof & Impermeable
Silicone roof coatings are hydrophobic. They repel water and remain flexible even when submerged, or exposed to very low or high temperatures.
Why it matters:
Ponding water isn’t typical on pitched metal roofs, but it can and does occur at the vulnerable areas, for example, where fixings have been over-tightened.
Extreme Flexibility
Silicone roof coatings maintain elasticity in a wide temperature range (often -50°C to +150°C), accommodating metal roof movement (expansion/contraction) without cracking.
Why it matters:
Metal roofs expand and contract constantly with thermal movement. Brittle or semi-rigid coatings will eventually fail at laps, joints, and fixings. Silicone handles dynamic movement exceptionally well.
Proven Reliability
Silicone roof coatings can last 25+ years without significant degradation, even in harsh industrial or coastal environments. Always look for BBA Approval, since not all silicone roof coatings are created equally.
Why it matters:
Specifiers and industrial building owners want proven, long-term protection and fewer lifecycle interventions and silicone is one of the few materials that can deliver on that promise.
| Advantage | Silicone Coatings | Hybrids / Others |
|---|---|---|
| UV Resistance | Excellent | Moderate |
| Water Resistance | Total barrier | Water-resistant only |
| Flexibility | Very high | Medium |
| Fire & BBA Certification | Often available | Rarely available |
| Long-Term Performance | 20+ years proven | Not proven |
| Movement Accommodation | Excellent | Variable |
Summary
Silicone roof coatings are chemically engineered for longevity, movement, and environmental resilience.
For pitched metal roofs, where durability, movement, and weather resistance are mission-critical, silicone-based systems offer the most reliable, certifiable, and specification-friendly solution available.
Liquasil’s range of silicone products are formulated for the highest level of performance to our own recipes.
Liquasil’s knowledge-first principle means that each system we offer is based on many years of roof surveying knowledge.
