This is metal roof coating project in Washington using Liquasil’s BBA Approved Metalseal system.
More than just a coating, Metalseal includes a cut edge corrosion treatment as standard, so there is nothing extra to think about.
This project in Washington was completed by Cladding Coatings Ltd of Oldham and carrying out work nationwide.
The existing Plastisol finish was failing throughout, with large areas of the factory finish missing and leaving the galvanised substrate vulnerable to the elements.
To fully remove the failing finish, the roof was washed using high-pressure jet wash equipment. The cut edges were prepared to ST3 standard using powered wire brush to remove surface corrosion.
The cut edges were then coated using Liquasil’s marine-grade SWT Primer before being over-coated with Metalseal 20.
The rest of the roof then received a single coat of Metalseal 20 to provide at least 25 years further protection against the elements. The specified colour in this case was Goosewing Grey.
Metalseal is available in two versions:
- Metalseal 20, containing solvent to allow for airless spray application. This version can also be applied by brush and roller.
- Metalseal SF, our solvent-free version which can only be applied by brush and roller.
